FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Helpie FAQ

  • Do I need 2 ISPs?

Yes. You need 2 ISPs, the main and the backup one.
The backup ISP will only be used when the main one goes out of service.

  • Do I have to choose a specific backup provider and/or plan?

You can use the backup ISP that you want, the only condition is that they have to provide you with a router with at least 1 Ethernet port to connect to our router.

  • If each one of my ISPs already gives me a router, why do you need yours?

Each ISP will provide you with their own router, each on its own network. Without our router, if you have computers or VoIP phones physically connected via Ethernet, you would have to manually change them to the backup network each time the main ISP goes down. Cellphones don't change to a different Wi-Fi network that easily, unless the one they're connected to disappears. Our router allows you to automate this process without any user intervention, and receive notifications when your ISPs go down.

  • If I have 10Mbps (main) + 10Mbps (backup), can I use the 20Mbps at the same time?

Correct. The router will balance the load between the 2 ISPs simultaneously, so both connections will be active and you'll be using the 20Mbps

  • What do I need to do to get the service?

Our team will first configure your 2 ISP routers so that they're compatible with ours. Once this is done, our router will be shipped to you, and we'll let you know how to connect it over a phone/video call.

  • Can I get assistance in english?

Yes, our team is fully bilingual, so you won't have any issues with that.

  • I'm a business and I have servers, do I need to change their IP addresses?

Servers are usually configured with a static IP, or a reserved DHCP address. We can configure our router as the DHCP server in your network and use the same subnet you're currently using, so that your servers keep using their same IP addresses.

  • What happens if the main ISP goes down?

Since the backup provider keeps working, you don't lose your internet connectivity. You get a notification.

  • What happens if the backup ISP goes down?

Nothing. Assuming the main ISP is working, the service keeps running as usual. You get an automatic notification.

  • How long does it take to switch over to the backup ISP in case the primary fails?

    Around 8 seconds.

  • What happens if I'm on a Zoom/Skype/GoToMeetnig/Google Meet call during the switchover to the backup?

This type of traffic is known as real-time (live), which means that for around 8 seconds, while the switch over takes place, your call will lose the audio/video. After these 8 seconds your call will keep working as usual, you don't have to start a new call.

  • What happens if I'm watching Netflix, YouTube or browsing the web when the switch over happens?

This type of traffic is not real-time, so you probably won't notice that the switch over took place.

  • How do I know when one of the ISPs is out of service?

Each time that 1 of the ISPs goes down, you will get an automated WhatsApp, Telegram message or email. Once it comes back up, you will get another notification.

  • Can I have 3 ISPs?

Of course. This requires additional configuration, so the price will vary. You can get in touch with us and we'll provide more details.

  • When I sign up for the service, do I own the equipment?

Yes, the price includes the equipment purchase.

  • Do I have access to make configuration changes on the router?

You will not be able to view or edit the configuration. The router is managed by our team, and any required configuration changes will be performed by us remotely.

  • What happens if both of the ISPs go down at the same time?

This is unlikely to happen (but it could). Based on our experience, ISPs usually run out of service at different times, but if it does happen, you will be out of service until at least 1 of the 2 ISPs comes back up.
